One billion people in low-income countries are still extremely hungry.
Two million children die from malnutrition yearly. But high-income countries are warning of obesity. We are overeating while others starve.

Commission for Social Development (CSocD)

We=NGO Coalition for Social Development

Mobilize social development organizations (including NGOs, Indigenous Peoples, people with disabilities, people of African descent, youth representatives, youth-led organizations, community-based organizations and faith-based organizations, academic institutions, representatives of workers and employers, and the private sector, with due regard to gender balance) to connect, share, unite, and collaborate, advancing and amplifying advocacy efforts to shape an inclusive global social development agenda for equitable, shared prosperity.

NGOs and CSOs are doing more than ever but can’t meet social and development needs. We can never end hunger and poverty, create decent jobs, and fight SGBV only through the beautiful work of our local charities and humanitarian partners. Like modern democracies, we must end global social and development challenges through compressive social protection and political leadership. Humanitarian service is life’s best work, but not as a way to feed the world or a nation. We don’t protect our national security through humanitarian aid, and we shouldn’t protect our families and children that way.
